1984 Corolla, with 2l Supercharger conversion
Wrapped it round a tree, teach me for DD, never had a beer and drove again
Mazda 323
Au Series 1 XLT Ute - Pro Tip: Wet weather + corner + storms = bad
Test drove an XR4, was like, wow this steering's heavy, so small. Initial dislike.
Au Series 2 XR6 Pursuit, dropped on it's nuts, chromies, Decepticon in purple gothic writing across the back window
Decepticon badges on the bonnet & on the tray.
Loved her to bits, but whacked a cam in it, and used like, $400 of a fuel a week doing 600km's.
Lease option became available through work, test drove the XR4 again and fell in love.

Which engine did you pop into the Corolla? The 4AGZE was a pretty popular choice.
The heavier steering on the XR4 was one of the things I liked about the XR4, I was driving a 405 Mi16 at the time and the steering in that was heavier... loved it Smiley

Offsetting hybrids since '07

Loose steering = FAIL  Wink

I seem to form an emotional attachment to cars I own, luckily I've only owned two...

1.  '90 Ford Laser TX3 (NA, FWD) - Owned since 2005.  Looks quite rough (20 years of shopping centre car parks will do that to a car) but still goes hard...it won me a club championship last year, but is still comfortable to drive in peak hour traffic.  Best first car ever.

2.  '07 Ford Fiesta XR4 - Second car.  Still got it (obviously...).  Love it.

I think I need a couple of rear drives to add to the collection though.  I learned to drive in an Escort so hopefully the next car will be something with power going to the back wheels  Wink

Get a S15, i love them to bits. My friend is kinda enough to let me drive his one when i crave some RWD. He takes it to drift days all the time. Not game enough to drift someone else's car though.

Shame how they're a thief magnet though. (Main reason i didnt get one).

I learnt to drive in 1985 Corona...Auto, rwd, skinny tyres, wooden steering and suspension, powerd by hamsters....not exactly the safest car to learn to drive in  Tongue

Good suggestion Will85, nice car for sure.  I'd be keen apart from the theft element.

Unfortunately I've heard they also tend to be police magnets to a certain extent - not that I really care as I'm not a criminal, but it would get frustrating after a while...I've heard a lot of the RWD Nissans get this treatment.  A mate owned a 180SX a couple of years ago and was always getting pulled over while just moseying along in traffic. Ended up getting sick of the attention and got rid of it, even though he was far from a hoon.

Good thing about the Fiestas is that people massively underrate them in this respect.  Then again, on our Mt Glorious cruise in March we all got pulled over and checked out by the highway patrol - fun experience hey Jeff?

I reckon I'd love an MX5 for the handling, but not so quick in a straight line and they have an unfortunate reputation as a hairdresser's car...

yeah, unfortunately all turbo nissans have that unwanted attention factor, along with evos, wrxs, honda type r's etc. Shame how a few idiots will just ruin it for everyone.

MX5 is not a bad car, i sat in the passenger seat of one with a friend of mine in a track day. He had a 1st gen, 1.8L one...no abs, no power steering....fun fun. I've also let him drive my car. He said the mx5 is pretty much the closest thing you can get to a rear wheel drive version of the XR4

One of my mates has recently got an MX5, its not a bad little car. You wouldn't want to be tall though Tongue
I am 6'3 and I only fit well behind the wheel with the drivers seat completely removed... As a passenger, the top of my head sticks up above the windscreen hehe
