My name is Paul - true story. I am 26 years old and grew up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
I studied Multimedia, and majored in Software Development. Went for a few jobs after uni and decided that IT was not for me... so naturally, I joined the casino and was a croupier for close to 2 years on roulette tables.
From there, I decided I liked money and applied for a job in finance and I am currently working at Credit Union Australia as a Mortgage Lender.
Its definitely interesting and I get to meet lots of different people- it is fairly rewarding as well.

Had a few cars over the years, but the XR4 has probably been the pick of the bunch.
I am soon to be a "Temporary Citizen of Australia" though, as my motorbike licence is booked for Monday Tongue

I'm from HK too, when did you start your study in AUS?
I have stayed in AUS since 1992, finished my tertiary education in mid 90's but never work in the field I studied. I was a cook in Japanese restaurant for few years then feeling bored and moved to a very diffenent occuption--Funeral industry. Started from the bottom as a foot soldier and kept moving on. When I left Melbourne in 2008, I was a branch manager.
Now I'm living in HK with my wife and new-born son, looking after my ill health father and the family business.
I had a few cars over the years, and most of them were hatch-back (Corsa GSi, Swift GTi, Micra, Accord, Fiesta) but Fiesta is gonna be my last one and I'll treasure it.

Hey my name is Dan, aka Dangles.... tho I don't know why.... and I'm 23 atm.

Anyways, I bought my Fiesta brand new in 2009. It was the last white one with blue stripes and it had to get shipped up from Victoria. I live around near Newcastle in NSW. Before that I had a Toyota Starlet which I traded in for the XR4. And before that I had a Ford Telstar, which not only did I learn to drive in it, but I was also brought back home in it from hospital after I was born haha! It was eventually passed down to me from my old man, so it was a family heirloom haha! It had 340, 000k's on it and was still going strong! Except for a leaking radiator... Apart from that everything else on it was like brand new, it even still had the original clutch in it! I traded it in for the Toyota but... Sad times...

Anyways, I currently work for Repco. I started off as casual, before being transfered to another branch and taking on full time work as a delivery driver. That lasted for 6 months, because I was then transfered back and promoted as Retail Team Leader. So I now take care of the retail side of things, such as setting up and preparing for catalogue promotions.

My dream job would be though, becoming a train driver. I keep applying and trying to get my foot in the door but its way hard!! I have had a couple of interviews so far, but I have been up against a few thousand other people..... Its just way too competitive!!!

You guys do some interesting stuff, put some pics up guys!!!  Thumbsup

For work I have been doing signwriting for 11 years. I like it becase its part design part construction.
I like the variety of the job. Ive done a bit of every thing from installing billboards, traditional signwriting, vehicle wraps, window tinting, graphic arts & CNC machining.

With signwriting Ive been lucky to work with my passion of cars. Including doing most of the signs at the old Oran Park, signwriting race vehicles (& getting hot laps in them as side benifits  Thumbsup).

I also spent 5 years as a Signwriting Instructor with the (TAFE) NRMA Smash Repair Team. It was good fun getting behind the scenes & repairing the smashed race cars.
One of the most rewarding was when we fixed the Team Kiwi V8 supercar when it crashed the day before the race. Everyone said it would never race again, but the next day it was on the starting grid looking like brand new. It sure put egg on a few peoples faces  Grin

You could try doing some voulenteer work at a train museum & try & get some experience working with trains. That way you would have a step up on the competition.
