Is it worth doing shirts for everyone to purchase to wear at cruises/events/etc..... to give the forum a bit more exposure and look a little more professional at events.

We looked out of place at the Small Ford cruise on Sunday. The cars were visible, but none of us were. Therefore none of the cars got nothing more than a glance from the rest of the participants.

I had a quick chat to my work shirt supplier today and got rough quote for a minimum order of 15 shirts @ approx $35 per shirt depending on artwork.

Peoples thoughts and idea's and contacts here please..........

maybe try to get a dealership involved such as Winford or Sinclairs to offset costs?? (at least in sydney anyway) They could have their logo on the sleeve and we could have the Ford logo on one side of our chest & the XR4 forum logo on the other side??

combining it with xr5turbo.com would make it easier too. Especially when broady and lats have both.

I agree with Will + Broady. Have one shirt to advertise XR4 + XR5 Forum. Would be great to get Winford/Sinclair dealership on board also. Free advertising from them and we can just talk them up as much as we can.

Im keen for this.

Just put the thoughts into affect. Opinions? The front XR4 logo will be changed for the XR5 cruise so other know what we drive. Dealer logo and URL on either sleeve

i think having different logo's on the front is nice, but may end up costing more if we don't get the numbers as the xr4 shirts would be different to the xr5 shirts.

Looking good guys,

you may have to be carefull that you dont breach any copyright using the ford logo. Going to Ford car shows you may have someone from ford there & we dont want to get in trouble.

In saying that, if there is sponsorship from a ford dealer we may be able to use it but Ford will probably have guidelines on how to use the logo.

I hate to get all legal & I know its stupid, but I remember doing signs for a race car & they incorporated the some of the HRT logo into the graphics on the car & they had to remove it because of a breach in copyright.

Just something to keep in mind
Heres a bit from Fords website about the use of their logo.

"Use of Ford blue oval logo and other Ford trade marks
The Ford blue oval logo is one of the world's most recognisable trade marks owned by Ford Motor Company. Ford Motor Company has developed a substantial reputation and good will in the Ford blue oval and its other trade marks in Australia and around the world.

In order to protect its trade marks, Ford Motor Company only permits authorised Ford Dealers and other organisations closely associated with it to use its name and trade marks. This ensures that when customers see the Ford name or the blue oval logo, they know they are dealing with Ford Motor Company or an organisation closely linked to Ford Motor Company.

Any reproduction of Ford Motor Company's trade marks requires the permission of Ford Motor Company.

Ford Motor Company of Australia is happy to consider requests concerning the use of the Ford Motor Company trade marks with respect to new products for Australia. To consider your request, an official request form must be submitted. Please fill in the request form and email to srequest@ford.com.

Please note that Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company of Australia take the unauthorised use of Ford trade marks very seriously, and will proceed to enforce their rights against any unauthorised user"

Heres a link to ford's website about the use of their logo. You can also get the request form to use the logo here too.
