Did you trade the XR4?

I've been looking for a 4x4 twincab ute, at least I was until they offered me $13 grand for mine with less than 30000k on the clock.

Missus told them to piss off before I had a chance to, so looks like I keep the skunk for a while yet.

Did you trade the XR4?

I am getting it tomorrow after convincing the Mazda guys tonight to trade in my girlfriends 2004 Echo for $5,000. She will now be taking ownership of the XR4 as she has always liked it and it has been my preference to hold onto it.

I think his girlfriend is keeping the XR4 and the Echo was traded in Tongue

Correct. I would never trade an XR4. It will be staying in the family.

Yup, the fun of depreciation. I'm preparing for the worst when it comes time to trade-in. It's just easier to trade-in. It could take months to sell is privately, and even then, I probably won't get much. I'm expecting around $13k trade-in on mine, as well.

Ford in Ballarat offered me $8,000 for mine. Needless to say they'll never get any business from me again.

Did the dealer manage to keep a straight face?

Or did you visit them on April 1?

Jeez what a nerve... tickedoff

$8,000... They probably thought it was an LX with stripes?
I have never bothered with trade-ins in the past, I have always been happy to wait for the right buyer privately. If I can get myself a few grand extra by having patience... then why not Smiley

I must say after driving the MPS and then taking the XR4 for a drive last night; the XR4 is actually more fun.  However the MPS is still more practical and cruises well.

Yeah, what about all that extra power? It must be a real rocket, I reckon. More power everywhere? And, yeah like Jorgo said, how does it handle?

Now that I've had it for 1,000kms I can say that it actually handles better. While it's not as 'chuckable' it will really pull you around tight corners with the LSD.

-I still enjoy driving the XR4 every now and then too.

Yeah, I had a feeling you would change your mind Tongue
It was probably due to the fact you were used to the XR4, and took time to adjust to the new car.
